Households are often overwhelmed by the amount of information available describing the best actions to save energy and water and to reduce greenhouse gases. It can be difficult to decide what action to take. At Get-Green we provide a one stop place to access the latest news, updates and services that are available through federal government schemes and programs as well as tips and articles from various commercial entities.
Through the Green Loans Program, householders are able to access a free, comprehensive Home Sustainability Assessment to reduce their energy and water bills, increase the comfort of their home and help reduce damaging carbon pollution. This Can be booked on-line or by calling our hotline 1300 GET GREEN (1300 438 47336)
This independent assessment by our qualified expert assessor will provide advice from the smallest behavior change to major investments such as a solar hot water system, insulation or photovoltaic panels.
From this assessment, householders get a tailored, expert report listing the most effective changes for their home. This will arrive by mail to your door in approximately 20-25 working days from Canberra.
The assessment is valid for six months.
The assessment involves the physical inspection of major energy and water systems relating to thermal comfort, water heating, lighting, refrigeration, cooking, entertainment, water efficiency and outdoor consumption, and waste management. All questions and criteria are strictly voluntary, however the more accurate the data collected, the more accurate your report will be.
The data is entered into a sophisticated assessment software tool to allow environmental impact calculations.
The length of the inspection is influenced by the amount of information readily available, the size of the property and the number of energy and water systems to be considered.
Each assessment should take around 60-90 mins to complete.
